Mountjoy has selected Bloodwise as its 2019 company charity in support of former Finance & IT Manager, Glen Moreton, who sadly lost his battle with leukaemia in October 2018. Glen had worked for Mountjoy for over 25 years and made a significant professional and personal impact across the entire company.
Bloodwise are the UK’s leading blood cancer research charity, and since 1960 have been funding world-class research into the various forms of blood cancer as well as campaigning for better treatments and ensuring those affected by the disease are offered the right support at the right time.
Throughout 2019, we will be holding a number of events across our offices to raise money for Bloodwise, in addition to promoting external events such as Walk the Wight, Round the Island Cycle Ride and the Great South Run. We will also be promoting the giving of blood and will set ourselves a target for the number of pints to be donated throughout the year.
Across 2017 and 2018, Mountjoy supported local charity Simon Says, whose mission is to support Hampshire-based children and young people up to the age of 18 who have a significant person in their life who has died or is dying. Mountjoy were able to raise a total of £9,649 across the two years for the charity, and we wish them every success for 2019.
