Mountjoy were delighted to support the ‘Get Inspired’ career event at the Portsmouth Guildhall, which took place on the 23rd January 2019.
The event, founded by Shaping Portsmouth, aims to bring businesses across Portsmouth together to inspire young people about the diversity of jobs available on their doorstep. It is organised by Education Business Partnership South, with whom we share a strong working relationship – we regularly attend multiple careers fairs and mock interviews, as well as host in-house mentoring programmes.
Around 1,400 young people were in attendance to discover the vast range of potential careers available. Our team hosted an interactive plumbing challenge for attendees to test their skills and learn more about the numerous opportunities available in the construction and maintenance industry.
This successful event follows on from the Shaping Portsmouth conference held on the 18th January 2019, where Mountjoy exhibited their services and community contributions to various other local businesses and educational institutions. The conference’s theme was ‘Shaping Portsmouth Together’ and focussed on supporting and celebrating the local community.
