Mountjoy's recently completed project at Sholing Junior School in Southampton has now been opened by the Mayor in a ceremony organised by Southampton City Council and the School.
The project which started in February 2016 was to build a two-storey extension and adaptations to the music room to form a new corridor, as well as resurfacing of the playground. Pupils visited the site and updated progress on the project on their school website's blog.
Mountjoy also installed a commemorative memorial stone dedicated to Wing Commander James Brindley Nicolson VC DFC and all of the brave pilots who defended the City of Southampton during the Battle of Britain.
Mountjoy was invited by the School to attend the grand opening of the school building and unveiling of the commemorative plaque which was designed by pupils of the school. The RAF Association, an eye witness to the Victoria Cross action and relatives of James Nicolson were in attendance at the event.
In a very kind gesture, Mountjoy's project team were formally presented with thank you gifts from Sholing School.
