Mountjoy recently carried out redecoration works to the old offices of local youth charity, Motiv8, following their recent relocation to a new Youth Facility, which Mountjoy also assisted with.
The works involved painting and decorating the premises, consisting of three offices, a kitchen area, and a corridor, and were undertaken by a team of Mountjoy volunteers, all working as decorators on our Repairs and Maintenance Contract with Portsmouth City Council, including Jack Rafferty, Ken Barnes, Stuart Merrett, Shaun Farley, and Robert Hill.
Additionally, Jake Mills, an Apprentice Decorator in his second year of working with Mountjoy, undertook a great deal of the works, receiving a gift from the charity as thanks for all his hard work.
The volunteers were visited by our Portsmouth City Council leadership team including Repairs Manager, David Luckham, Materials Service Manager, John Williams, Assistant Contract Manager, Scott Harris, Service Manager, Carly Golden, and Mountjoy’s Managing Director, Simon Ingram, who assisted the volunteers with finishing the works.
The works ensured that the offices were brought up to a high standard, ready to be handed back to the landlord. The money saved through Mountjoy’s support will go towards the charity’s fantastic cause, helping to provide life skills, wellbeing support, and safe spaces for vulnerable young people aged 9-19.
We look forward to continuing to work with the charity in the future.
