A new project for Mountjoy’s construction team health care portfolio is the refurbishment and extension to a care home in Redhill, Surrey for Carebase. The contract will take a year to undertake the extension works and internal refurbishment of Acorn Court Care Home, whilst the property remains in occupation.
Carebase is a leading care home operator providing award-winning residential, nursing and dementia care in homes across South East England and East Anglia. Their property at Acorn Court in Redhill provides high quality nursing and dementia care and has been awarded a Gold Standard Framework accreditation for end of life care. New facilities being added include a spa and hair salon, library, comfortable lounges, private dining room, roof terraces and beautiful gardens to create an exceptional environment, that is accessible for residents and families.
Mountjoy’s works to the care home will include refurbishment of the entrance foyer, reception and visitor’s WC before moving onto the bistro. The rear extension will form the second phase of the project, this will house the hair salon, cinema, office, dining room and a day room once it is complete; some of the old areas can then be transformed to repurpose them as offices and staff changing areas. The works will be completed with some hard and soft landscaping, handing over in Summer 2019.
Nicola Coveney, Managing Director at Carebase said: “We are delighted to be working with Mountjoy to bring new and improved facilities to Acorn Court Care Home. Our approach to caring for our residents is focused on providing a warm, stimulating and engaging environment that enables our residents to live a purposeful and meaningful life and the development works will fulfil this, whilst providing a home everyone can be proud of”.
