Portsmouth City Council has appointed Mountjoy to provide alteration, extension and refurbishment works for The Harbour School at The Vanguard Centre in Cosham.
Harbour School educates children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. They have bases in Tipner and Stamshaw and are moving from a site in Fratton. The new school will cater for up to 110 pupils.
These works at the Vanguard Centre will provide appropriate, specialist accommodation for a wide range of vocational subjects and will be specifically tailored to meet the needs of these pupils.
The works will enable provision of suitable classrooms, office and circulation space together with modern toilet facilities. Externally landscaping works will provide external teaching spaces and new access arrangements.
The project is due to start in the spring and to take 34 weeks to complete.
