Mountjoy recently welcomed students from Basingstoke College of Technology’s Future Skills Centre to visit one of our construction sites.
Opened in September 2017, the College’s Future Skills Centre in Bordon offers a comprehensive range of construction courses, allowing students to learn a trade and gain professional qualifications.
In December, over two days, students visited our care facility development site in Bordon where they could see work in progress on the three-million-pound project for Omega Elifar Ltd. They were shown around by Project Manager, Stuart Hendry and Trainee Site Manager, Dan Byng who is a former apprentice himself.
Mountjoy was delighted to be involved in supporting these students in their learning especially with a shortage of skilled tradespeople in the industry and with an ever-increasing demand for them.
Next up in Mountjoy’s Social Value and Sustainability Plan for 2018 is a school visit to our housing site in Cranleigh at the end of January.
