Objective
Surrey County Council appointed Mountjoy to provide refurbishment services to a gym maintenance facility run by their Commercial Services team. The facility is located within the grounds of Danetree Primary School in Epsom, and offers an extensive gym and machine maintenance service run by qualified engineers to many local authority services across the county, including police stations.
Solution
The works included both internal and external refurbishment works and the relocation of a new modular unit with associated mechanical/electrical services (including the installation of a new 3 phase electrical supply). Additionally, we carried out landscaping works including the removal of a concrete bin store, the formation of a new access road/parking bays and associated drainage.
Whilst not operating as part of Danetree Primary School, the workshop building is part of the school complex and shares an entrance with the school’s staff car park. The school remained in occupation throughout the duration of the works, meaning we had to liaise with the teaching staff regarding our logistical approach and delivery bookings to ensure minimal disruption was caused to the school. We also issued letters to residents in the local vicinity to keep them up to date on the key activities in our programme.
