Objective
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is a charity that saves lives at sea around the coasts of the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man, as well as on some inland waterways. In 2019 they began procurement for a long-term provider of Facilities Management services at their manufacturing facility in East Cowes on the Isle of Wight – providing peace of mind that their buildings were being looked after whilst they focused on saving lives.
Solution
In 2020, Mountjoy was awarded the contract to provide FM services at the RNLI’s manufacturing facility, known as the Inshore Lifeboat Centre (ILC). The ILC is a 10,000 sq. metre site, comprising 3 large units, where 70 RNLI employees manufacture inshore lifeboats.
The Total FM Service we provide at the ILC includes the following works: mechanical, electrical and civil planned preventative and reactive maintenance, site security, cleaning, garden maintenance and pest control. This also covers maintenance of some specialist support systems at the site, including vacuum pumps, commercial ovens, fuel systems and spray booths.
The contract commenced in June 2020 and is expected to run for 3 years.
