The Objective
Alresford Doctor’s Surgery was in need of building alterations to make extra space for consulting rooms, toilets and offices.
The Solution
To achieve these alterations our project team was required to carry out structural and foundation works for an extension, pitched roofing works, installation of rainwater goods, installation of cedral cladding, partitioning and ceiling work, carpentry and plumbing, mechanical and electrical work, decorating and the laying of floors.
The project was challenging with the surgery remaining open during the build; to manage the works in the occupied building careful phasing was required. Demolition was carried out on weekends, other tasks were carried out early in the morning before the surgery opened and internal partitions were erected to segregate the public from the work (these were moved and rebuilt several times as the project progressed). A temporary diversion was also set up to allow pedestrian access to the rear of the surgery.
A high level of finish was required by the Architects to meet the expected standards of the building users.
