Mountjoy is delivering the construction of a new community building in East Wittering, West Sussex, set to be known as Downview Hall. The project is for East Wittering and Bracklesham Parish Council and is being funded by the F Glenister Woodger Trust, a charity that seeks to benefit people local to West Wittering.
Our construction team will be developing a single storey building with a multi-use sports court (to be used by the Girl Guides for badminton), toilet and shower facilities, an office area, community space, kitchen facilities and storage spaces. Externally there will be a safe play area and landscaping.
Joyce Gryffith of the Council and Jacqui Manuels, leader of the local Girl Guides stepped up to take the first shovel of dirt at the groundbreaking ceremony Girl Guides and Brownies were in attendance at the event.
A major step in the building's construction, the structural steel work has now all been lifted into place.
External brickwork and roofing progresses.
Internal blockwork walls are being built to form the final layout of the community centre.
As the internal aspects of the building take shape, the mechanical and electrical installation stage of the project takes place.
The exterior façade of the building nears completion, with windows and rainwater goods still to be installed.
The windows and doors are now in and external groundworks have begun.
The multi-use sports hall is completed ready for the Girl Guides' badminton matches
The toilet facilities are complete with Internal Plumbing System allowing for a smart finish.
The changing cubicles finish off the internal facilities for the community users.
The completed Downview Hall is handed over to the Council ready to be used by local people for fitness and dance classes, slimming groups, soft play toddler groups and community groups such as the Girl Guides.
